Stanix Salvage Operations
Date of Scene: 25 April 2022
Location: Outskirts of Stanix
Synopsis: A group of Decepticons are sent on a salvage operation in the Stanix region, and run into Blurr.
Cast of Characters: Blurr, Blast Off, Prowl, Swindle, Hookshot, 168

Prowl has posed:
A recently evacuated and destroyed town near a major campaign in the Stanix region has plenty of salvage operations going--Autobot, Decepticon, and a few neutral scavengers.

Well, it had been mostly evacuated...there were a number of dead bodies, too. But that means more parts for salvaging. And with the current state of things, this was needed now more than ever. Not exactly the most glorious of duties, at least for some, but either way everyone gets stuck with it at some point...

Swindle has posed:
Swindle of course is here for all the salvageable scrap and maybe even useful less-damaged items that he can probably sell at a profit. And he's not above looting corpses for valuables as well, in addition to the valuable parts they hold.

OmenEye (168) has posed:
OmenEye being a self professed "collector of things" could only grin at the opportunity to simply collect. Even if it was the 13,205 instance of a part, the opportunity to hoard anything was never something he took for granted. Afterall, you never knew when someone would be begging for your stash.

Prowl has posed:
As the two of them are rifling through all the junk, they would just happen to catch sight of something they may not have expected to be so lucky to find here...

In a building with a broken floor, a cellar is revealed, and on the floor of the room is a small, power cell fueled cryo container full of photonic crystals--which can only mean one thing: Someone here had somehow managed to stash away a frozen spark, or maybe even a couple. Okay it was possible that there weren't actually any sparks in there, but even then, photonic crystals were still a rare and valuable resource.

It was just a matter of getting down there without caving in the entire structure on top of them...which was already rather compromised.

Swindle has posed:
Swindle stumbles upon the cellar eventually, and rubs his head trying to figure out how to get into it. He tries prying off pieces of floor around the hole carefully until it's wide enough for him to get through.

OmenEye (168) has posed:
OmenEye spots the valuable first and immediately proclaims "What's that?! Whatever it is, Swindle, I saw it first!"

OmenEye (168) has posed:
OmenEye says, "whatever, just be careful. The last thing we need now in recovering the cryo container I spotted is a careless cave in!"

OmenEye (168) has posed:
OmenEye says "If we're going to recover that valuable safely, I suppose we'll have to do it together. Someone light should approach it, another should work on making sure this structure is stable in whatever way is possible, and another should likely work on making an extra exit in case this thing comes down on us anyway."

Hookshot has posed:
And who else would be fashionably late to a party but Hookshot? Although it isn't a party so much a salvage operation. In the dirt. And scrap. And junk. As such, the only part of Hookshot touching the rubble below is his shadow as he glides overhead. But once Swindle and Omeneye seem to really go after something, he swoops down to a lower altitude to get a better look.

Via radio, Hookshot's silky tones can be heard, asking, <<"And what do we have here, my lovelies?">>

Swindle has posed:
<< "We've got a bunch of things to salvage, that's what we've got," >> Swindle shortranges to Hookshot, << "And what's more, there's a neat basement that I'm trying to get into, but I don't want to *fall* in." >> He glances over at OmenEye. "Sounds like you have a plan," the Combaticon says, "So, who here is the lightest, you think? And who should make sure the floor doesn't cave in where we don't want it to?"

OmenEye (168) has posed:
OmenEye responds "Can't finish my plan without also knowing who is the heaviest, and who is capable of flight."

Hookshot has posed:
The glider above does a couple tight loops. <<"You're exicted about a basement?">> Hookshot responds. Then pauses. <<"But I suppose if I don't lend a hand I'll get bullied into boring battle training again.">> The glider lists to one side, before rolling in the opposite direction. Mid-roll he transforms, his slim frame spinning from the momentum as he drops through the air. With a tuck and a roll he lands with unnecessary flair, arms out. The cloud of disturbed dust settles around him and he pats off what he can before approaching the hole.

Hookshot squats and peers into the hole before looking at the other two. "Oh come now, that's not such a bad drop." Hookshot stands back up and holds up one arm, his hand retracting and a grappling hook replacing it. "if I can rely on both of you not to cut the line and leave me down there alone I can easily get down." Hookshot pauses and looks at the two other Decepticons warily. "Alternatively, I can stay up here and lower one of you two down and be your lifeline if things go awry." Hookshot looks at OmenEye directly. "I can't fly, but I can climb."

OmenEye (168) has posed:
OmenEye considers the offer. "Hmm. Fair enough. Upon success what split of the reward are you expecting?" OmenEye retorts. While part of him would love to hoard whatever goods are down there, he knows better than to betray long term relations with his comrades over something so trite. Time for terms and negotiations.

Swindle has posed:
"Sounds good to me," Swindle says, "But let us know if anything really heavy is down there, in case you need help getting it out. Be careful, I think there's a couple of sparks down there. Don't wanna extinguish them by accident."

Prowl has posed:
As the three of them are up there talking about what to do, they might hear a noise coming from below. It sounds like they aren't the only ones here...they had best make a move before someone else does!

Hookshot has posed:
Hookshot looks at Swindle with a tilt of his head. "Why? Planning on selling those, too?" Hookshot grins off his own glib remark and shrugs his shoulders. "As for my share, I'm not greedy. I'd much rather have a favour than whatever might be found down there - so you two split the proceeds, but don't forget your best buddy Hookshot."

There is an opportunity here, and after bracing himself, Hookshot fastens his hook on something, gives it a tug to check how sturdy it is, and hops down into the basement. It is only once he is on his way down that he hears the noise, suddenly becoming alert. He locks his lead moments from the ground, suspended there silently as he looked for the source of the noise. He then drops down the rest of the way with more control and less noise.

Blurr has posed:
Hookshot's careful maneuvering pays off--not even a single piece of debris cracks or falls. He lands softly and deftly, making barely a sound. There, just a few paces away from him in the middle of the floor and resting in a bit of a crevice, is the cryo container. Now that he as a closer look at it, he can definitely tell from the faint glow it gives off that there has to be at least one actual spark in there.

Now if he looks for the source of the sound, he'd immediately recognize Blurr, standing in a doorway along the far wall, his optics fixed on the same prize. He freezes, staring at Hookshot as he immediately draws his weapons but doesn't fire yet. This structure wasn't very stable, and a collapse could very well crush them or get them trapped under rubble for a long time...and plus, damaging the cryo container could mean the spark would die.

"All right Decepticon," he starts. "Why don't you step away from that container there--and I'll let you live."

Swindle has posed:
Swindle shrugs as Hookshot takes the initiative, watching as the mech goes in the hole. Then he hears Blurr's voice and his fuel pump sinks. "Oh great," he mutters, "What a complication. Maybe we should just grab what we can and go."

Hookshot has posed:
Hookshot sees the crate. Then his attention turns to Blurr, and reflexively Hookshot has a small lasergun out, but also doesn't fire. Crate. Blurr. Crate. Blurr. "Oh dear, you got me, Autobot - since we're on first name basis and all!" Hookshot checks the tension of his line, but doesn't take his optics off of Blurr. He looks at the distance between himself, between Blurr, the crate, and the way back up. Hookshot complies, hopping back away from the container. However, just as Hookshot activates the retraction of his hook to pull him back out of the basement, he fires not on Blurr, but on the crate, almost as if curious to see what Blurr will do.

<<"Coming up hot but empty handed!">>

Blurr has posed:
    "No!"

Blurr shouts as Hookshot fires at the container. The shot hits, and the coolant immediately begins to leak with a loud hissing noise. "You glitcheaded piece of slag!!" he shouts, grabbing it anyway and trying his best to seal the beach, but he doesn't exactly have anything on hand that would actually be useful to that end. The best he can do now is rush back to base and hope he can get there in time before the spark dies.

    But...

He turns and fires at Hookshot at him as he is rappelling back up, attempting to knock him down and destroy his grappling device.

Swindle has posed:
Swindle laughs derisively at Blurr. "That's whatcha get for interfering!" he calls down into the hole, "Next time think about what'll happen to 'innocent lives' before you do something foolish, Autobot!"

Blast Off has posed:
Blast Off is hearing something about Blurr being shot (good) and also about someone ELSE who actually just shot Blurr that wasn't HIM... (which is good, right? ...Yes. Yes, totally. *cough*) So the shuttle comes roaring into the scene to see just WHAT the blazes is going on here. "<< Incoming, ETA in about .7 breems. Where is that blue irritant? >>"

OmenEye (168) has posed:
OmenEye OmenEye, who'd be quietly sulking behind the rest of the Decepticons from the shadows (lazy sneak as he is), finally got tired of all the tomfoolery and decided to simply shoot Blurr without a word. Quietly. He ~really~ didn't want to be dragged into a bout of verbal jousting with that annoying autobot today. Annoyed, he fires...

Hookshot has posed:
VWIP! Up goes Hookshot, twisting and bounding out of the way of Blurr's retalliation. He just hazards one more haphazard parting shot at Blurr. The cad clamours up out of the basement deftly, leaving OmenEye to slow down Blurr. Hookshot peers back down into the basement then steps away, dusting himself off. "Well that was a waste of my time."

Hookshot looks up as Blast Off arrives and he grins, then glance to Swindle, "You lot can mop up this mess, yes?"

Blurr has posed:
Blurr gets dinged by a blaster bolt and then by Hookshot's grappling hook, though neither of them manage to do enough damage to cause him to lose his footing. He glares at Omeneye, though his expression twists into a bit of a smirk. "Oh, I remember you--from the portal terminus! You know I would love to stay and chat, but your glitcheaded friend up there kind of made that impossible." he says, pointing to the leaking container before subspacing it. "Hopefully I'll be seeing you around -sometime-!"

With that, he transforms and zooms off through the doorway he came through, which leads to a passage that comes up to ground level a few kliks away. If Blast Off is in the air, he'd likely spot the blue speedster once he makes it to the surface.

Swindle has posed:
"Well, with Blurr preoccupied, we can see what else we can quickly grab before we run, yes?" Swindle says to Hookshot, "Was there anything else of interest down there?"

Blast Off has posed:
Blast Off hones in on Swindle's signal, transforming and landing once he sees his fellow Decepticons. Or, wait... some of them, some are underground, aren't they? WHY. WHY is it ALWAYS underground. The shuttleformer sighs, then squares his shoulders and sets his jaw. "Where is he?" The ionic blaster is already out as he looks down into the hole.

That's about when Blurr comes rushing up from that very hole, zooming by before the shuttle even knows what's happened.

OH. Well, Blurr's already rushing by, but the Combaticon sniper is not slouch, either, and his own fairly quick reflexes spring into action, whirling around to fire a blast at the racer without another word. Oh PLEASE let this not be the one time he doesn't hit, especially after it seems like everyone else has.... PEW!

OmenEye (168) has posed:
OmenEye , who has been hot on Blurr's tail, had transformed for himself when he saw the arrogant autobot get sniped. Quietly smirking to himself, he takes a measure relief in simply being able to shoot at that annoying bot himself yet again. He just better not miss...

OmenEye (168) has posed:
OmenEye emit ...and with his failure to hit his target, OmenEye could feel a new cyberheadache coming about.

Hookshot has posed:
Lacking the weaponry to hit Blurr at this range, Hookshot shrugs it off. He glances back at the hole, then gestures to Swindle. "With the Autobot no longer there, feel free to scavenge to your spark's content. There might be something left behind you could sell for an egregious profit. As for me, I think I'm just going to have some 'me time'." Whatever that means, Hookshot heads off towards Shanix proper.

Blurr has posed:
Blurr was zooming away when he gets hit by none other than Blast Off. Ugh, why here, and why now? The blast sends him careening into a half-collapsed warehouse, where he transforms and readies EMP missiles. That should keep them preoccupied while he rushes the now only partially frozen spark to safety.

Swindle has posed:
Swindle yahoos and jumps into the hole, now that pesky Blurr is out of the way, time to do some hardcore looting.

Blast Off has posed:
Blast Off is fixated on Blurr, of course, not really noting the others. No. There's only that blue target. However, that doesn't blind him to the fact that the target hits back, and when said target sends EMP missiles out of the way, the shuttleformer is already transforming again, this time up and away as a shuttle, which rockets up, up, up, and the arcs down to fire some more laserfire Blurr's way. "<< In such a rush to leave? How rude, Blurr. And after such attention-seeking, too. Tsk. >>"

Blurr has posed:
Blurr gets blasted into another partially destroyed building with that last volley, the structure collapsing with the force of the impact. Then everything lies still, and there is no further movement. Is he dead? Or did he find some other street or passage through the bowels of the planet? Only time will tell.

Blast Off has posed:
YES! Blast Off grins inwardly as the blast has quite an impact, collapsing a building, even. "<< Did you SEE that? >>" He radios to any Decepticon nearby who still has a radio on. "<< I was MAGNIFICENT! >>" The shuttle circles around for a bit, trying to see if he can spot the Autobot again, but after a time he decides either Blurr is gone or... he's GONE. And so now, too, is Blast Off. But in the sense of flying away, not... you know.

OmenEye (168) has posed:
OmenEye , having a peculiarly one-tracked mind only on the mission, remains focused on his quarry alone. Ever the strong silent type, he says nothing as he considers the disorientation to his systems. He slows down to run a diagnostic check, before he continues his pursuit of the irritating autobot.
